Automated Daily Backups
Cloudback was developed to provide continuous, daily backups of a repository and its metadata. By default, it performs backups at a specified hour, aligned with a chosen time zone, and stores the resulting archive in predetermined storage. Additionally, Cloudback offers the flexibility to create a custom schedule for backups to occur on a non-daily basis.
Schedule
You can set a specific time to capture a backup or create a custom schedule. We advise selecting a time when your repositories are least active, such as during early morning hours.
Also, you can change the schedule for a set of repositories using the Bulk Operations
menu:
Number of scheduled repositories
The overall number of scheduled repositories depends on a purchased GitHub Marketplace Plan and a purchased number of units
. The detailed information on the available number of units
can be found in the Subscriptions
menu:
Repositories section:
Purchased: the overall number of purchased repositories
In use: the number of scheduled repositories
Remaining: the delta between the number of purchased and the number of scheduled
Time zone
Please be aware that a backup schedule is sensitive to the account time zone you define at the initial setup. Additionally, you could verify and change the time zone in the Account Settings
menu:
Retention policy
You have the option to customize the duration for which your backups are stored before they are permanently deleted. We provide several predefined options designed to meet the needs of most use cases. This setting can be accessed both from the individual card and within the Bulk Operations
dialog.
